Installed TWRP to flash a custom rom, TWRP can't mount /data. Would still like to find out what is causing the issue but have now installed Nemisis and all is working perfrctly which makes me think it's the OS as opposed to my file system, considering I have installed multiple other versions and ran TWRP no problems.

Could it be a problem with the actual OS?Įdit** When I install the Carrier firmware I can't get TWRP to open, these errors occur as soon as it opens, and then it crashes and reboots I then used Odin to Install the carrier firmware I want to run and the same errors occurred. Iv'e tried this option, I installed the Indian OS which works with TWRP, formatted the Data drive to FAT (Fat32 isn't an option) and then back to EXT4. This time choose its original format type. Use twrp wipe option select internal memory then format to fat32 after that again do same thing. Your internal memory now corrupt you have to format it. Interestingly tho, If i install the Indian version of the OS, it loads and roots no problems (I'm from New Zealand).

I have googled a millions things and am still stuck. I get the follows errors when booting to the recovery. I have download the correct version for my phone and location but now TWRP fails to launch. Then after incorrectly uninstalling the security log agent and getting a million errors I foolishly deleted the stock OS. Yesterday I managed to root my phone all fine with TWRP and SuperSU.

Try flashing a lower version of the same frimware you've already installed e.g if the latest is nougat 7.1.1 with the recent security update, try flashing with another nougat version that is lower to the recent one's security patch # It can't mount anything, and the error that I see the most often is that it cannot mount the /cpefs partition. Everything works fine in the recovery, but it won't let me wipe/format/repair or change ANY partition. Where would I find a recovery patch for this model?. The OEM unlock option is enabled, otherwise I wouldn't be able to flash the recovery. If no luck, maybe someone will sort it out for ya, soon! It'll work, mostly some users said they fixed this by the above mentioned step!

Thirdly check the recovery patches etc of the desired recovery's webiste (you're using) and flash it through the recovery if you're facing the problem! Secondly make sure to enable OEM unlock options from the stock ROM's Developer option! Either "/data" can't be mounted, or "/cpefs" can't be mounted while formatting /data. But it won't allow me to do any of those things. I've tried formatting the data partition, repairing it, changing the partition format, wiping, installing a custom rom, installing superSU. The internal storage works fine, but nothing shows up when I open TWRP. I can flash the stock firmware trough ODIN, and I can flash the recovery. I've already tried formatting the /data partition from EXT4 to extFAT, but it won't let me because it cannot mount the "/cpefs" partition, which I've been unable to find any information about. It also says that the /system partition weights 0MB. For some reason the file explorer shows no files and no /storage folder. (failed to mount "/cpefs" (Invalid Response) - Samsung Galaxy J7 Questions & Answers I recently got this phone and I've been trying to install a custom rom, however, I can't seem to do anything while using TWRP.
