When you order from an over seas listing for knock off parts- you never know if you will get the exact same thing from order to order. It works to change settings, add keys, etc. The link I posed above will have the 1.4.1 firmware and the VPW chip. So looking for 2.0.4 firmware helps get the genuine knock off- if that makes any sense. My theory is Xhorse makes these knock off cables and someone else made knock offs of theirs that lack this VPW chip. I find that strange because my cable is 1.4.1 and I can make changes just fine.

The information out there is that 1.4.1 firmware cables don't support VPW and those cables can't make changes. Perhaps FW version is easier to communicate than the myriad of versions and clones of the cable.

Not sure why the information out there is about the firmware (software) of the cable and not the cable/model/revision. Ones that advertise 2.0.4 are supposed to have this chip. Some of the cheaper clones lack this chip. It's the cable supporting the VPW protocol via a chip. But from what I've seen it's not the firmware that actually matters. It's worked great, but will sell it and get the TS501 version to write ID's if I can't get the Cable/TIS comb to work. I originally bought the Autel TS401 so I could read the ID's. Has anyone else been able to reprogram the sensor ID's with the cable/Techsteam? I assume it was with the ebay cable and TIS software. When I review all the posts, it appears only has been able to reprogram TPMS sensors.

I can't imaging a dealership doing moving sensors out of range to do this. I have not tried moving the old sensors/tires out of range. I even tried to connect the TC and CG pins on the DLC3 using a small wire for 30 seconds. error when trying to reprogram the TPMS IDs.

Stop the steering wheel/seat from moving back when turning off the truck, windows opening with key fob unlock button.īUT I still get the " Terminate initialization by connecting TC and CG of the DLC3 for 30 seconds". I have the 2.0.4 firmware using the Xhorse - MVCI drivers. I ordered the ebay version from obdfamily - Same link as as KLF posted, except the Techstream version is 10.30.029 versus 12 at the time.
